A useful file once you have chosen your route
Find the Camino in the catalogue and check that the title matches the route or section you will follow. A guide to the Camino Francés from Sarria and one to the full Camino Francés have different scopes.
Download the document before your trip and open it on your phone to check it has been saved. You can gather tickets, confirmations and personal contacts in the same place.
What it contains and what you need to add
The guides bring together the route outline, recorded stages and available distances and elevation data, along with verified places to see and practical references. Content depends on the data available for each Camino.
When information is missing, the guide says so. A PDF does not confirm accommodation opening, taxi availability or luggage transport coverage: supplement it with the answers you receive for your dates.
Offline PDF and interactive map
The downloaded file remains readable without a connection. This does not mean the interactive map was downloaded with the guide, or that the document receives automatic updates.
Before departure, recheck the online page, official source and any notices. The PDF is a travel reminder; compare each day’s information with the situation on the ground.
Check the file before departure
Open the downloaded guide with the connection switched off and check that it covers your chosen route. Check its date, covered section and practical contacts: a route name does not mean every variant is described. Keep the GPX track, bookings and useful contacts separately. A PDF is a reference; a track describes a line, but neither certifies current trail conditions. If you change your starting point, recheck accommodation and transport too: downloading the same file again does not automatically update bookings.
